The southern slope of Gredos is protected from the northerly cold by the highest peak of Gredos and is made up of successive hillsides and valleys rising to over 1500 m. This gives LO ALTO and its surroundings some spectacular views, crossed by deep ravines, surrounded by oaks, holm oaks, chestnut trees, walnut trees .... .Where the only sounds to be heard are those of water and birds.

Being naturalyt sheltered, due to its climatic and relief conditions, there have been human settlements throughout history, therefore, there are celtic, roman and medieval remains scattered around the area.

Also, Avila, Salamanca, Segovia, Toledo and Caceres are very close by, true jewels which have been declared World Heritage Cities.
